Comments

In terms of capabilty demonstration on the occasion of the V Day, the parade will demonstrate progress made by the PLA in terms of organisation for combat and strategic systems with loyalty to the Party emphasised.

However, the signal to members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) the Summit 2025 to be held in Tianjin from Aug. 31 to Sept. 1 may be of PLA's modern prowess.

Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to chair the 25th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO and the "SCO Plus" Meeting and deliver keynote speeches. While members would have dispersed by then and the Summit is not being held in Beijing, spaced just a day apart symbolism may not be lost sight of.
