Sri Lanka Presidential Race Hots Up

Leader of United National Party (UNP) Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Deputy Leader Minister Sajith Premadasa agreed to immediately form the Democratic National Front (DNF) led by the United National Party for the forthcoming presidential election. The agreement was chalked out by a group of UNP seniors who met with the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to discuss the amendments needed to be made in the constitution of the Democratic National Front. Steps have been taken for the constituent parties in the proposed alliance to receive the amendments to its constitution submitted to the UNP chairman Minister Kabir Hashim as per Colombo Page. The proposed Democratic National Front (DNF)  is likely to include members of the United National Party (UNP), the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC), the All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC), the Tamil People’s Alliance (TPA), the Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) and the United Left Front (ULF).................................
