Sri Lanka Police introduce emergency call services in Tamil for Northern districts Sri Lanka Police have introduced emergency call services in Tamil for the people in the Northern districts enabling them to submit their problems in their language. The police launched two emergency numbers for the Tamil people in Vavuniya and Mannar districts in Wanni at an event held Friday at the Vavuniya Deputy Inspector General Office under the patronage of Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundera to coincide with the 150th anniversary celebrations of Police. Accordingly, people in the Vavuniya district under the number 076-6226363 and people in Mannar district under 076-6224949 can present their problems in Tamil language to the police and obtain solutions.
