Sri Lanka Opposition Leader calls for merger of Northern and Eastern provinces

Sri Lanka's Opposition Leader and leader of the main Tamil party Tamil National Alliance  R. Sampanthan highlighted need for Northern and Eastern Provinces to merge to function as one province as majority of Tamil speaking people live in  two provinces,during meeting with visiting UK Minister  Mark Field in Colombo, TNA leader stressed majority Sinhala community need not be afraid of merger as constitutional protection in preventing any move towards separation there,power-sharing arrangements will be worked out within United, Undivided and Indivisible Sri Lanka Mr. Sampanthan pointed to Minister also explained current political situation added,TNA genuinely participated in processes of framing  new Constitution…………….Please Log in or Subscribe to view full details…..
