Sri Lanka Navy rescues seven Indian sailors stranded in the sea

Sri Lanka Navy rescued seven-member Indian crew from Maldives-bound Indian Merchant Vessel Maria Iurudaya,which sunk in seas south of Sri Lanka due to mechanical fault,information by Maldivian government about ill-fated medium-scale merchant vessel sinking in seas 68 nautical miles south of Galle lighthouse, Navy Headquarters alerted all merchant ships plying in that area as well as Sri Lanka Navy ships patrolling in southern seas to render assistance,Subsequently, Navy informed of drifting life-craft with sailors on board by multi-day fishing trawler named Sahan Putha,SLN Fast Attack Craft P490 dispatched immediately to location,Indian crew in distress rescued and brought safely to Galle Harbor…………….Please Log in or Subscribe to view full details…..
