Sri Lanka Navy arrests 33 Indian fishermen The Sri Lankan navy on Friday evening has apprehended 33 fishermen from Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu state of India along with their five boats.The arrest comes a day after the Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena said that he has given clear instructions to the Navy to arrest anyone trespassing into the Sri Lankan waters.The fishermen were detained while fishing in the waters near Jaffna and were taken to Kankasanthurai naval base, said fishermen representative in Rameswaram has said.Sri Lankan government is getting increasingly frustrated with the continuing invasions by the Tamil Nadu fishermen into its waters for poaching.
