Sri Lanka Navy arrests 27 Indian fishermen for poaching in Sri Lankan waters

Sri Lanka Navy has arrested 27 Indian fishermen from Tamil Nadu and seized their four boats yesterday for allegedly breaching the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) and poaching in Sri Lankan waters.Naval personnel on a Fast Gun boat attached to the Northern Naval Command arrested the 27 fishermen in for dhows illegally fishing in Sri Lankan territorial waters in northern seas near Delft Island on Friday (August 10).The arrested fishermen along with their dhows and fishing gear have been brought to the naval base SLNS Elara in Karainagar.
