Sri Lanka declares Maritime & Naval Week  The Government of Sri Lanka has declared the period between September 21 to 27 as the week of maritime and naval activities. Commencing the Week, president of the "Maritime & Naval Week" program and Senior Advisor for Ports and Aviation presented a souvenir and a badge to President Maithripala Sirisena at the President's official residence on Monday. This is the first time Sri Lanka to hold such an event under this theme, President's Media Division said in a statement. The Maritime & Naval Week will be held according to the advice and conditions of the International Maritime Organization.
