Sri Lanka Army's annual defense seminar this year to focus on global and regional concerns

Sri Lanka Army's annual defense seminar this year will focus on a wide spectrum of global and regional concerns including climate change. The 'Colombo Defense Seminar - 2018' is scheduled to be held on Thursday and Friday, 30 - 31 August at BMICH and deliberate on the theme, 'Security in an Era of Global Disruptions'. President Maithripala Sirisena will be the Chief Guest of the inaugural ceremnoy while Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has been invited to deliver the keynote address after the opening remarks by Secretary of Defense Kapila Waidyaratne. The two-day seminar would provide an ideal platform for intellectual brainstorming amid a wide spectrum of equal interests in order to seek collective mechanisms to counter such disruptions for sustaining the peace building processes. Colombo Defense Seminar - 2018, the 8th one in sequence expects to draw 800 foreign and local participants, including 13 foreign and 14 local speakers.
