Sri Lanka Army Peace Keeping troops awaits clearance from HRCSL

Sri Lanka Army is awaiting clearance from the Human Rights Commission to deploy the Lebanon-bound contingent of peacekeeping troops following new procedures set up by the UN relating to Sri Lankan troops sent for Peace Keeping assignments.Sri Lanka as one of the Troop Contributing Countries (TCC) to the United Nations has been in the practice of sending troops for UN Peace Keeping assignments since 2004.The first batch of 49 troops have left Sri Lanka for Lebanon on 18th and 19th February.…………….Please Log in or Subscribe to view full details…..
