Sri Lanka Army Commander's service extended by one year The service of Sri Lanka Army Commander Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva has been extended by another one year. Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena, in his capacity as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces has extended the Army Commander's service, Military Spokesman Brigadier Jayanath Jayaweera confirmed. Major General Crishanthe De Silva was appointed as the 21st Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, effective from February 22, 2015 on the directions of the President.
