Sri Lanka - Terrorism and Counter Terrorism Review

Sri Lanka, an island country of South Asia has been a victim of years of internal strife. Although the civil war has ended, yet, the presence of military by the Sri Lankan government in the post-conflict area still exists. This is because of the government’s concern over the re-emergence of pro-Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) sympathisers. However, the democratically-elected government of President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is more in favour of seeking political reconciliation with the Tamil community, through talks with the Tamil Diaspora.
