Japan grant aid for Sri Lanka Maritime Safety Capability Improvement Project The Government of Japan has granted Yen 1.83 billion (approximately Rs. 2.4 billion) to the Government of Sri Lanka for the implementation of the Maritime Safety Capability Improvement project.The signing of the Exchange of Notes took place Thursday between Ambassador of Japan to Sri Lanka Mr. Kenichi Suganuma, and Secretary, Ministry of Finance and Planning Dr. R H S Samaratunga, at the Ministry premises. Director General of Sri Lanka Coast Guard Rear Admiral Samantha Wimalathunga, was also present at the signing ceremony.
