Emergency extended for another month in Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena considering the security situation in the country, on Monday has issued an Extraordinary Gazette announcing the extension of the state of emergency, by another month. The gazette has been issued with the signature of the Secretary to the President Udaya R. Seneviratne on the instructions of President Maithripala Sirisena. The gazette notification said the President is of the opinion that "by the reason of a public emergency in Sri Lanka, it is expedient, so to do, in the interest of public security, the preservation of public order and the maintenance of supplies and services essential to the life of the community."...............
