'Don't judge us by broken promises in the past' - Sri Lanka tells international community
Sri Lanka today told the international community not to judge the island nation by the broken promises, experiences and the u-turns in the past and trust government to find meaningful solutions to the problems.Addressing the 30th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva Monday, Sri Lanka's Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera said the government of President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is committed to engage in meaningful dialogue aimed at finding solutions to problems and sought the "patient understanding" not only of the international community but all the "right-minded" citizens of Sri Lanka.
