Bank of China offers Sri Lanka $300 million loan, option to raise to $1 billion - Report

Bank of China, one of the four biggest state-owned commercial banks in China, has offered Sri Lanka a loan of $300 million which can be raised to $1 billion, a Reuters report said on Tuesday quoting a source in Colombo with direct knowledge of the matter.The government is considering the offer because of "difficulty in borrowing money after recent ratings downgrades," the source has told Reuters, declining to be named as the information was not public..........
