Who is In Charge Here? DGISPR Usurps Political Leadership?

Multiple media sources in Pakistan including the Dawn and the Daily Times reported on the presser held by Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor at the General HQs on 29 April. General Ghafoor representing the Pakistan Army Chief covered wide ranging issues internal to include the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), National Action Plan (NAP) on terror and mainstreaming of madrassas. Other issues included countering Indian claims on Balakot air strike and peace in Afghanistan. His remarks on the internal issues particularly the PTM movement were startling as he seemed to have virtually usurped the role of the Chief Executive the Prime Minister of Pakistan. So was the announcement of mainstreaming of madrassas. These remarks on the internal issues comes when the Supreme Court of Pakistan has warned the DG ISPR and the Pakistan Army not to take upon themselves the role of the political masters on the issue of handling the Tehreek Libbaik Pakistan movement. The Pakistan Supreme Court delivering judgement on the Suo Moto Case No. 7/2017..........................
