The Political Crisis in Pakistan: Zardari’s Fight For Survival   Thenemesis of the National Reconciliation Order (NRO) finally struck Mr Zardariand the Pakistan People’s Party on 16 December. The Supreme Court of Pakistanstruck down the NRO saying it is unconstitutional. A 17-member bench, headed byChief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, declared the ordinance as null andvoid in terms of the 1973 Constitution of Pakistan. All the cases, disposed offthrough the NRO stand revived as of Oct5, 2007 position. "The provisions of the NRO seem to beagainst national interests thus it violates the several provisions of theconstitution," the ruling said.
