Pakistan - Civil Military Relations Remain on an Edge Relations between Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) government and Pakistan Army and ISI remained on the edge through April. Three issues were cause of intense friction though each seemed to pass over before reaching boiling point. This was ironically after Army Chief General Raheel Sharif, apparently Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s chosen one publicly displayed displeasure with the government forcing the PM to back down.
