Pakistan’s Defence Budget – An Expected Boost Pakistan's Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced largesse of Pakistan Pak Rs 627 billion (about USD 6.32 billion) for defence in the Federal Budget for 2013-14. The Budget was projected in the parliament on 12 June 2013. This was a hike of 15 percent from the previous year’s allotment of Pak Rs 545 billion (about 5.82 billion dollars). The allocation for the three defence services is 15.73 per cent of the federal budget of Pak Rs 3.985 trillion for fiscal 2013-14. The breakdown is Pak Rs 301.54 billion to the Army, Pak Rs 131.18 billion to the Air Force and Pak Rs 62.80 billion to the Pakistan Navy.
