Nawaz continues to dither on top military appointments Pakistan Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s hallucinations (sic) on appointing the Chief of Army Staff seem to be continuing. Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Khalid Shameem Wynne retired on 7 October and was given a ceremonial send off at Joint Staff Headquarters attended by General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Chief of Army Staff, Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila, Chief of the Naval Staff, Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, Chief of the Air Staff and other senior officers. His relief is yet to be named. This puts General Kayani the senior most of the three chiefs as the CJCSC till a new appointment is made.
