India releases 88 Pakistani fishermen lodged in Indian jails The Centre has released and repatriated 88 Pakistani fishermen lodged in Indian jails. This decision was conveyed by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi to his Pakistani counterpart during a telephonic talk on June 16, 2015. The release and repatriation of the Pakistani fishermen has been considered by the Central Government in close coordination with the Government of Gujarat so that they can be with their family during the month of Ramzan.
