OSINT Report- Why Mr Modi and Mr Oli Reset Ties After Two Years of Hiatus?

Just over two years after his visit to India in February 2016 during his first tenure as Prime Minister, Mr K P Sharma Oli may have found the atmosphere in Delhi wholly transformed as he landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on 06 April. He was received by Indian Home Minister Mr Rajnath Singh at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi which is a privilege that is granted to a select few given that Mr Singh is the senior most Cabinet minister after Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi. The usual protocol is for a minister of state to receive and be in waiting for a visiting dignitary who is head of the government. Later in the evening, Prime Minister Oli held a one-on-one meeting with Mr Modi at 7 Race Course. Nepal media extensively reported these two markers at the beginning of the visit. My Republica described the visit to Mr Modi as a “surprise call,” and “without Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali and his Chief Adviser Bishnu Rimal”.
