Human Rights in Nepal Army -COAS Call  Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Gaurav SJB Rana has urged his rank and file for the protection and promotion of human rights in any difficult and adverse situation.In a message issued on the occasion of the International Human Rights Day, CoAS Rana said that Nepal Army (NA) is fully committed to the basic principles of human rights and that its soldiers always protect it.  Following the sudden attack on the Army barracks in Dang on 23rd November 2001, the then government declared a state of emergency in Nepal and moblized the army in addition to the hard pressed Police and Armed Police Force.During the resultant counter insurgency operations, in spite of efforts to operate within the domestic laws, some incidents of human rights violations did o...
