Survey of Left Wing Extremism in Odisha

Odisha Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy claimed that only five of the fifteen districts in the State are now affected by Left Wing Extremism. Speaking at a conference ahead of the review by the Home Minister he said, “On the security aspect we have got huge success in curbing left wing extremism. Out of around 15 districts earlier, Naxal menace is now limited to five districts. In the coming days we will be more successful,”

As per the Ministry of Home Affairs, 15 districts in Odisha are impacted by Naxalism. These are Angul, Bargarh,  Bolangir, Boudh,  Deogarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal,  Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabrangpur, Nayagarh,  Nuapada, Rayagada,  Sambhalpur, Sundargarh......................
