Review of State of Left Wing Extremism March 2018

A brief review of the state of Left Wing Extremism (LWE) in India in March 2018 would indicate that incidents of violence have decreased  from 1089 in 2015 to 1048 in 2016 and 908 in 2017. There have been 122 incidents in 2018 up to 15 February 2018 as per data provided by the Ministry of Home Affairs to the parliament in March this year. This is a drop from 2016 to 2017 of 13.3 percent. The Ministry of Home Affairs has identified 106 districts in 10 States which are being provided assistance under the security related expenditure (SRE) scheme indirectly admitting that these are the affected districts of the total 707 in the country.This is 15 % of the total districts and represents a fairly large number...............
