Chattisgarh: Hot Bed of Terror  A major ambush by Naxals on 29 August resulted in killing of 12 security personnel in Chattisgarh. The Naxalite, despite heavy security deployment in the area, displayed ability to quickly muster attack squads of more than 100 combatants and attack the police. The security team was to secure an area at Tarmekla village in Jagargunda, where Naxals had blocked construction of a road. "The team comprising Chhattisgarh Armed Force, SPOs and cops was divided into two groups. The Maoists hiding in the area ambushed the rear party and opened fire on them," DGP Vishwaranjan said.
