IAF Carries Out Self Defence Firing Exercise in Naxal Area Two days after a deadly Maoist attack that killed seven CRPF jawans in Bastar, Indian Air Force special forces unit 'Garuda' commandos on Friday, April 1 conducted a special air-to-ground live-fire drill in worst insurgency-hit Sukma district as part of what is being claimed as "self-defence" mechanism, reports Rashmi Drolia in Times of India, April 1. Times of India report quoted that IAF Air commodore Ajay Shukla and Chhattisgarh special DG (Naxal operations) D M Awasthi told reporters that specially trained commandos of IAF in a package of three MI-17 choppers conducted a special air-to-ground live-fire exercise in Sukma region.
