Will BJP lift AFSPA to end J&K stalemate? BJP general secretary Ram Madhav met PDP president Mehbooba Mufti at her residence in Srinagar, on February 17 and, according to sources, conveyed to her the Centre's willingness to lift the contentious Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) on a trial basis from Jammu & Kashmir, reports Saleem Pandit in Times of India , February 18. The report says that, Madhav also spoke of handing over two power projects to the state to end the 40-day deadlock over government formation.
