NDMA conducts mock exercises ahead of the Amarnath Yatra Disaster scenarios simulated to assess preparedness along the base camps The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) conducted mock exercises at Baltal and Pahalgam base camps in Jammu and Kashmir from June 23, 2016 to June 28, 2016 to assess the preparedness and response mechanism of all the stakeholders involved in the management of the upcoming Amarnath Yatra. The first mock exercise was conducted along the route from Baltal in Ganderbal district between June 23-25, 2106 and dealt with simulated scenarios involving a cloudburst and a fire.
