How Relevant is the UNMOGIP- UN Observer Mission in India and Pakistan Clarifying in the Indian Parliament on 13 August 2014, the Ministry of External Affairs indicated that the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) was established under a UN Security Council Resolution in 1948 was meant to supervise the Cease Fire Line (CFL) established in Jammu and Kashmir in July 1949 under the Agreement between Military Representatives of India and Pakistan regarding the establishment of Cease-Fire Line in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
