Feasibility of RFID for Detection of Weapons looted by Maoist

Security forces are constantly facing the challenge of Maoists in Left Wing Extremist affected areas and terrorists in Jammu & Kashmir looting weapons. Thus a report in the Times of India stated that after the major ambush by the Maoists on 24 April, Home Minister Rajnath Singh has asked the agencies to look for technology that can track the looted weapons. A number of organizations have attempted to use RFID tags to monitor and control weapons.  However due to a variety of reasons these efforts have failed. Recently some organizations as the SkyRFID have claimed a breakthrough in managing weapons using RFID.
