Maldives Declares 17 Organisations as Terrorists including ISIS, AQIS, LeT, JeM

On the eve of his departure to address the UN General Assembly in New York, where he is also due to attend the Climate Summit and five other meetings, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih met the press on 19 September and spoke on a number of issues as per Maldives Independent including on counter terrorism measures undertaken by Maldives.

The President said that on 19 September the Government has published a list of 17 terrorist organisations as required by the 2015 anti-terrorism law, which would provide adequate powers to law enforcement agencies to prevent Maldivians joining international terrorist groups....................
