A Survey of Iran U.S. Escalation Triggers and Responses in Gulf

The region is living on an edge as the United States administration under President Donald Trump has unleashed a policy of maximum pressure against Iran in May last year when the U.S. walked out of the landmark nuclear deal that had been inked by it along with EU 3 (France, UK, Germany) + 2 Russia and China with Iran. United States also imposed stringent sanctions on Iran which at present include the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps and the Supreme Authority Ayatollah Khamanei the all powerful leader of the country. The United States refused to grant waiver to countries including India drawing oil and gas wef from 1 May this year which has added to tensions which has led Iran to raise the ante. Iran declared that it will not allow any export of oil and gas from the Gulf as it was prevented by the US from doing so. The latest incident in the spiral of diplomatic and military events in the Gulf including shooting down of a Iranian drone by the United States as a retaliation to the Islamic Republic having shot a Global Hawk High Altitude U.S. drone in June..........................
