US ambassador to India attends Sangai festival on his maiden visit to Manipur

United States ambassador to India, Kenneth Ian Juster visited Sangai Festival during in a two-day trip to the State, making the visit a first time in the history of Manipur.Kenneth was accompanied by US Consulate General, Kolkata Patricia L Hoffman on his maiden visit to Manipur.After his arrival to Imphal International airport, he met chief minister, Nongthombam Biren and governor, Najma Heptulla.Kenneth I. Jester, said enhancing relationship with the North-eastern region of India particularly Manipuris, is critical to broaden connectivity within South Asia.“I really want to know all of the states in the northeast better because it is important for the United States to enhance its relationship with this part of India particularly Manipur, which is critical to broaden connectivity within South Asia”, said the US Ambassador.Replying the queries of media, he said the relationship between India and US has been already strong and US longs to enhance the relationship by focusing particularly on Manipur as the US is looking forward to boost it.i..............................
