Setback to Talks and Cease Fire with NSCN K

The Central Government and the State government of Nagaland along with civil society groups in the State were hopeful that the NSCN K officially known as the NSCN/GPRN would come back to the fold by signing a Cease Fire Agreement. This was a precursor to the group agreeing to the larger Naga Accord the way for which has been paved by the Framework Agreement between the Government of India and the NSCN IM or GPRN/NSCN on 3 August 2015. To be effective, the accord will have to include all Naga groups and the Chief interlocutor of the Government of India Mr. R N Ravi is engaging multiple stakeholders having got the NSCN IM generally on board on various issues. Ravi was hopeful that the NSCN K which reneged on the Cease Fire Agreement in April 2015 would resume talks as some Naga civil society organizations including the Naga Mothers Association had sent delegations to meet the leadership in Taga in Myanmar which houses the HQs.-----------------------------
