Manipur UCM demands clarification on ceasefire agreement in State

United Committee Manipur (UCM) has submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minster of India through chief minister today seeking clarification on the recent claims made by NSCN (IM) ministry of Information and Publicity on May 21 this year, regarding the existence of Ceasefire Agreement between the Centre and NSCN (IM) in Manipur.The memorandum submitted demands clarification regarding clarification regarding the presence of any designated or “Taken note of” camps of NSCN (IM) inside the state of Manipur. It also demanded immediate directives to the state government for any action to drive out the presence of NSCN (IM) in any parts of Manipur.The memorandum further mentioned that the statement made by NSCN(IM) not only provoked the people of Manipur but also created a blot on the face of the former Prime Minister of India, (L) Atal Bihari Vajpayee who had declared to the chief ministers of all north eastern states during the meeting held on July 27,2001 at New Delhi that the words “ without territorial limits” in the agreement reached between the centre and NSCN(IM) on June 14 would be deleted and the status quo ante of June 14 would be restored...........................
