Manipur CORCOM boycotts PM visit, calls for 17 hours total shut down

The proscribed umbrella organisation CORCOM has boycotted the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s visit to the state on April 7 by imposing a 17 hours total shut down of Manipur. A release signed by media coordinator, LeibaakNgaakpa Luwang stated that at 17 hours total shut down from the morning, 1 am till 6 pm in the evening of April 7 will be imposed in the State. It has been almost 70 years since Manipur was forcefully merged to the Indian Union in October 15, 1949, it said.......................................
