Bangladesh, India to open more border markets Based on the success of pilot projects launched in 2011, the neighbouring countries will operate more of the weekly haats along their shared frontier.Bangladesh and India have agreed to open eight more duty-free haats (weekly markets) at border crossings after two pilot projects succeeded in reducing smuggling.Two existing haats enable farmers in the most remote areas to get fair prices and increase person-to-person contact across the India-Bangladesh border .
