Su 57 May Be Back on the Indian Air Force Buy List

Depending on demonstrated capabilities of the first batch of fighters fielded by the Russian air force likely by end of the year, the IAF could have a relook at rejoining the Su 57 programme. After having dumped the programme for joint development of the Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft (FGFA) with Russia, Indian Air Force may just once again consider a review as the fighter is to enter into service in Russia by end of this year. Russian  Ministry of Defence has signed a contract for 76 numbers of Su 57 as per a report in the Tass quoted by Flight Global on 30 July. Deputy prime minister Yuri Borisov has confirmed that the Russian ministry of defence has signed a deal for 76 numbers of Su 57 during the Army 2019 exhibition in Moscow in late June............................
