Review of India China Defence Relations Post Wuhan

Indian Army and the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Ground Forces (PLA) are set to resume the interrupted 'Hand in Hand' series of exercises in December 2018, reported the Press Trust of India. The planning conference for the same is set to be held in November where details will be finalised. Location of the exercises this year will be in China in the Western Theatre Command zone which covers the vast swathe of terrain from Xinjiang to Tibet and Yunnan.  There was a strategic reset of relations after Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi and President of People's Republic of China, Mr. Xi Jinping held their first Informal Summit in Wuhan on April 27-28, 2018. While Hand in Hand is the latest manifestation of implementation of directions of the two leaders, there have been a number of activities in the past five months which indicate improvement in bilateral defence relations between China and India.
