Progress of Indian Artillery Mediumisation Programme April 2018

The Indian Army Field Artillery Rationalization Plan (FARP) was conceived in 1999. This entailed upgradation  of all regiments to the 155mm calibre from the existing 105 mm and was thus known as Mediumisation of the Indian Artillery. ..................some progress is anticipated by 2025 with a number of inductions such as the ULH and partial completion of inductions for towed guns. Given the current progress and plans, it would be safe to presume that the Indian Army will have the full complement of 145 Ultra Light Howitzers from the BAE Systems, the 100 K 9 Tracked gun system from L&T-Hanwa, 100-200 Mounted Gun System and approximately 400 Dhanush OFB and some quantities of ATAGS thus partially fulfilling the requirements of mediumisation............
