Supreme Court judgement in favour of gender equity in the Indian Navy and Army is quick succession in a month necessitates a review of Employment of Women in the Indian Armed Forces, covered herein is the current situation and what is likely in the days ahead-

The Indian Army induction of women has gone down from 949 in 2017 and 819 in 2018 to 364 in 2019. For the Air Force the figures are 109, 86 and 77 respectively and the Indian Navy 57, 38 and 54.
