OSINT Report: Ship Launched Dhanush – Triumph of Indigenisation

Numerous media reports in India indicated that the Strategic Forces Command of the Indian Armed Force successfully test-fired the nuclear-capable 'Dhanush' ballistic missile from a naval ship off the coast of Odisha on 23 February 2018. Dhanush Missile is a single-stage, liquid-propelled, short range ballistic missile. It is 350km range, capable of carrying conventional and nuclear warheads for sea and land based targets. Dhanush is also known as the naval version of the Prithvi II ballistic missile. The first successful test of the Dhanush from a ship platform was conducted in October 2012, while the last trial was almost two and a half years ago on April 9, 2015. Development of the missile was carried out by the Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO) while the stabilised firing system was developed by Larsen and Toubro (L&T)............................
