OSINT Report - United States DNI Global Threat Assessment 2018 –India Impact

Daniel R Coats Director National Intelligence Agency (DNI) presented the United States Intelligence Community’s 2018 assessment of threats to US national security to the United States Senate Select Committee on Intelligence on 13 February 2018. A portion of the assessment was released by the office of the DNI entitled “Worldwide Threat Assessment of the US Intelligence Community”. The threat assessment is obviously from the United States perspective and as is applicable to America but general trends can be derived as relevant to India. On the general Global Threat Scenario the DNI states that there will be an increase in competition between major powers and regional aggressors. The major powers assessed are China and Russia while the regional aggressors are Iran and North Korea which is reflect the National Security Strategy released by President Donald Trump in December 2017 and the National Defence Strategy by Secretary of Defence in January this year..........................
