Op Capability Impact of Induction of K 9 Vajra and M177 in Indian Army

Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will attend a ceremony on 9 November to induct new artillery guns and equipment, including K9 Vajra and M777 howitzers, at Deolali artillery centre in Nashik as per the Ministry of Defence. So what is the impact on operational capability of the Army, here is an assessment-  K 9 Vajra- Indian Army will be inducting 100 K9 Vajra at a cost of Rs 4,366 crore by November 2020. The first batch of 10 guns will be delivered in November this year, 40 guns within a period of one year that is by November 2019, and the newt 50 by November 2020. --------- BAE M 777 Ultra Light Howitzer. Indian Army proposes to induct 145 BAE’s M777 Ultra-Light howitzers at a cost of Rs 2,900 crore. 25 guns will be inducted in Fully Formed condition and the balance 120 guns will be assembled in India..........................
