Indian Army K9 Vajra T Howitzer - Joint collaboration L & T and Hanwha Techwin (HTW)

Larsen & Toubro in a press release on 21 April stated that the company has signed a contract with Hanwha Techwin (HTW) of South Korea for execution of the 155mm/ 52 Cal Tracked Self Propelled (SP) Gun program for the Indian Army. The contract is expected to be worth Rs 6500 Crore or approximately $ 800 million. This includes life cycle cost as the per piece price of the K 9 is estimated to be $ 4 million. The Indian Army has been scouting for tracked guns for the armoured strike formations for some time now.
