India Vietnam Defemce Cooperation Expansion In another major development, Indian Army Chief Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag left for a four day visit to Vietnam to intensify India’s defence and strategic cooperation. This is first time that an Indian Army chief is visiting Vietnam after a defence partnership was launched between the two countries few years back. The Economic Times December 19, stated that  Gen Suhag's visit comes after the assurance in October by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to his Vietnamese counterpart of India’s steadfast support to Hanoi's military requirements.
