Indian Air Force Fifth Generation Fighter Dilemma

By 2025 front line air forces in the World would be flying fifth generation combat fighters which would have exceptional features of stealth, manoeuvrability, thrust and survivability. These fighters would have the ability to penetrate normal radar cover as is said to have recently achieved by Israel’s F 35 fighters which reportedly swept through the Russian S 300 air and missile defence shield over Syria in June 2018, though the possibility of the Russians having deliberately avoided declaration of detection cannot be ruled out. By 2030, air forces in the Sub Continent - China and Pakistan would be fielding a viable Chinese made fifth generation fighter. The Chinese are working on two models of this generation and just like the American example of developing the F 22 which is exclusively for the US Air Force and F 35 being shared with close allies – Pakistan Air Force is likely to be provided the export version of  Shenyang J 31......................... What are the IAF options on fielding a Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft (FGFA). After having invested in design and development in the Russian T 50 PAK FA for years the IAF has reportedly walked out of the programme now....................
