India’s Defence Indigenisation Paradox The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) releasing the comprehensive annual update of the SIPRI Arms Transfers Database on 19 March 2012 identified India as the world’s largest recipient of arms, accounting for 10 per cent of global arms imports.
